Gallery9 is a concept formed by artists for artists to assist in the development and promotion of their craft. St Andrews Village is supporting the Arts by offering a short term exhibition/event space in Hamilton. Opportunities are endless, you can hold exhibitions, workshops, collaborations, install work for documentation - you name it! We are looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Any artists from any genre can apply to hold an exhibition or event in the 55sq meter gallery.
The gallery space consists of 32 square meters of clear space with a partitioned second gallery room/workshop area including 2 versitile smaller cubicles which could be used as for example photo booths. There's also a small kitchen area and separate toilet. The setup enables the artists to continue to work in the middle room whilst their exhibit/event takes place. The artist choose their opening times and have to be in the gallery during their chosen open hours. Find floor plan and more information about the setup here...
You can rent the gallery for a period of 1- max 4 weeks at a time. During the pilot period the cost is only $200 per week and no comission. Yes it's true and you better be quick to get your propsal to us, in order to secure a space. We are looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
